|
An unusual shader, this one takes a single texture and layers it with itself repeatedly. You control the number of layer repeats, how much each layer fades compared to the previous layer, and you can change the scale and offset position of each layer. This allows you to create some interesting texture maps from a single simple input texture, adding more variety, detail and variation to the result (without the need to use layers in the trueSpace material!).

Another unusual image (texture map) shader, which processes an image to counteract for the distortions that occur when the image is painted onto a sphere. You can use this in a plane, and render from an orthagonal view, to create and save a “sphericalized” version of your texture map for use as an IBL background, for example. The results can help re-straighten vertical lines which bend owing to being painted on a sphere, or you can use it just to create some unusual effects! It’s not a perfect solution by any means, but it may come in handy!

This includes a Colour, Reflectance, Displacement and Transparency version. These shaders take the processing found in many of my other shaders, and combine those abilities into one flexible shader. The “squares” processing, seen in Pixel Noise and Particles, is included here, allowing you to create speckled materials. Using this in Reflectance can produce a glitter type effect, or with larger squares, a panelling type effect. |

This unusual shader makes it possible to render a 360 panoramic view of a trueSpace scene. The shader needs to be painted on an object, usually a simple plane, which then acts as a “photographic plate” for a virtual camera. |

| The resulting image can not
only make for an interesting render, but is also useful as an environment
map. Note that because of the approach taken, effects such as fog and volumetrics, and post-process effects such as depth of field, cannot be used. |
