MoJoe's Coffee Cafe

Mojoe's Coffee Cafe in Henderson TX

MoJoe's is a great social gathering spot in Henderson. Featuring the perfect combination of coffee and live music, it's also open til midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, ideal for night owls like myself!

Food is also available, even in the wee small hours. MoJoe's is located at 106 West Main, so is in the heart of downtown Henderson.

Read more about MoJoe's on their home page.

October Fri 23rd and Sat 24th

Live music this weekend at MoJoe's will be Wes Scott again on Fri 23rd. He'll be starting around 9pm. If you miss this show, then Wes is playing again in Henderson on October 30th, at Sundowners. For that show, he's suggesting fancy dress, so that could turn out to be an interesting event! Just discovered Wes' Facebook page to go along with his MySpace, so two handy ways there to keep track of when and where you can see him next.

Then on Saturday we have Levi Kitchen dropping in from Longview, again expect them to be taking the stage around 9pm. Levi Kitchen's MySpace page there shows they'll be playing the Festival in the Square in Henderson on November 14th too, the Syrup Festival so if you can't catch the MoJoe's appearance, you won't have to wait too long before you have another chance!

Not sure which, if any, I'll be able to go to as I have quite a bit of work going on at the moment (yes, freelancing means you end up working weird hours at night!). If I do attend then I'll be sure to grab some piccies and do a bit of a write up here.

October 10th 2009

Had a great trip to MoJoe's on October 10th. I arrived halfway through Rick Droit's set, and was able to stay for the first half of Stone Road's set, so got to sample a bit of each of the performers!

Rick spoke about working on his new album, planned release early 2010 (if only he could stop meeting and adding more musicians on the recordings, he said, having just added a hurdy-gurdy player). Stone Road meantime were performing an acoustic set, while they look for a new drummer and bass player to complete the full rock band line up.

My snapshots from the evening are below (click on any image to open up a larger one). I didn't get time to drop by MoJoe's the weekend of the 17th October, so not sure who played on that day. Hoping to go by this weekend though (the 24th).

October 3rd 2009

On Saturday October 3rd, live music was provided by Wes Scott. The informal nature of MoJoe's meant I was able to have a good chat with Wes before his set, which was great.

While he was playing as a solo artist that night, he has a band he is putting together, and I'll be keeping an eye out for appearances by them as well as by Wes.

Upcoming this week, on Friday 9th, Til Eternity will be playing. They will be starting at 8pm - not sure I'll be able to go, hoping so, but I will likely miss the start of the show as that's a bit early for me to be finished for the day!

Then Saturday sees another solo artist playing, I saw the poster last time I was in but the name escapes me for now. Will update this page later once I drop by and refresh my memory!
