![]() Glassworks 1 This still life was an experiment in texturing, lighting, and modelling. Glass can be a hard thing to get looking right, and I’m quite pleased with the results I’ve achieved here. Since I wanted to keep the focus on the glass objects, where better to place them than on display in an art gallery or museum? Technical Details The biggest problem in this image was preventing the lighting for the room from interfering with the lighting for the glass, eventually solved by using area lights for the room, angled away from the display cabinet. The little spotlights are IK jointed with their lightsources attached, for easy posing. The “cuts” in the bowl on the left are modelled, by sweeping a triangle following the curve of the bowl, and then boolean subtracting.
