TMG CG Art has recently been doing some custom modelling for a client. These are a couple of test renders of a gurney, used by ambulance and emergency crews. Technical Details The new toolset in tS5 proved useful in allowing the mesh to be created with the necessary detail, within the required timescale. Note that the mesh is designed for import and use in 3DS Max, so that only basic texturing has been used (only phong reflectance, and plain colour!). For these test shots, IBL lighting was used, as it gives a great sense of solidity to the object. The blanket was created using NURBs (it would look better with a texture map and bump map applied!). Beneath it, not visible in the shot, is a mattress, which was created using Subdivision Surfaces. These new tools are a real benefit in creating complex objects which might otherwise prove difficult or impossible to do. Software used was trueSpace 5.1
