Scanning Electron Microscope

Software Used : trueSpace 4.3, Micrografix Picture Publisher, Satori PhotoXL
Extensions used : ShaderLab, PrimPlus, THC2, Primitive Itch Hair

A question was raised in IRC chat as to whether it was possible to create a Scanning Electron Microscope shader for trueSpace, and it so happened that my Virtual Light shader from TG Pack 1 could do just that.

Technical Stuff

The main image was created and rendered in trueSpace 4.3. The text was added in post-process, as were some “scanlines” to give an impression of this being viewed on a monitor.

The viruses were created from a sphere using Primitive Itch’s Hair plug-in, while the blood cells were created using ThermoClay2. The background surface was created using Primitives Plus.
