Snoo-Z sleeping tablets

Ubik “Snoo-Z” sleeping tablets

This site is all about the science fiction author Philip K. Dick. TMG CG Art contributed some artwork on a voluntary basis for an overhaul of the site back when it was named www.philipkdick.com (that domain name is now the location of the official site of the Philip K Dick estate).

The graphics are animated GIFs for a humourous section of the site based around a fictitious company called Ubik. This part of the site took the form of an on-line catalogue, with the images illustrating the products on offer from the catalogue.

The images are intended to be quite realistic in appearance. As well as the final images and animations shown here, the Ubik logo seen on the products was also designed by TMG CG Art. This logo was deliberately made to look like it is from the 1960’s or 70’s to tie in with when many of Philip K. Dick’s books were written, and with themes in the Ubik novel.

This work was done over 5 years ago, and the graphics are no longer in use at the site.

SystemLogic Review Score Meter

A meter designed to show scores at the end of reviews

SystemLogic needed some new graphics for their site of computer news and reviews, including this “review score meter”.

The idea was to produce something futuristic and technological, and the graphics were created so that the “Hardware Mode” and “Software Mode” buttons could be shown pressed in, and the LED display could be adjusted to display the review score.
